As long the battery can support, the hardware and software are optimized for it, plus if there are really usable functionalities taking advantage of the always-on display, then it makes sense to have the said feature.The Series 6 has the Always-On Retina display and an OLED display projecting 1000 nits in terms of the display. Anyway side note, where did MKBHD say he will. Price is an issue if upgrading as you also lose some money from the Series 4 depreciation. If you don’t already have a Series 4 then just go straight to the Series 5 as the price difference is not a lot. The Always On Display is good to have but not worth the upgrade if coming from a Series 4.iPhone as an alarm clock while getting charged or docked. Most of them are inspired by Samsung though. Use cases why you need Always-On Retina display screenThese are some use cases I can think of why iPhone needs Always-On Retina display screen too. It’s just a matter of time until Apple implement the same feature on iPhone which hopefully won’t take 3-4 years later to bring the feature into iPhone.
